JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you have a strong commitment to aquaculture and the fishing industry and want to work strategically at the intersection of business, politics, and sustainable development? Then this could be a role for you.
As an investigator in aquaculture and the fishing industry, you will work with qualified analyses and knowledge bases that contribute to the implementation of the government's assignments within the framework of the food strategy. The work includes the development of new assignments and methodological development of knowledge bases to promote blue industries, as well as participation in the development of platforms for collaboration along the entire value chain.
You will be responsible for monitoring, collecting, analyzing, and disseminating knowledge about market and trade issues, as well as conducting statistical and analytical work regarding the economic and socioeconomic development within the blue value chain. The work requires good analytical skills and experience in handling and processing large data sets.
The position includes following up, analyzing, and assessing socioeconomic goals within fisheries policy and producing documentation in the form of statements, responses, analyses, and investigations. As an investigator, you are expected to independently plan and carry out report work, as well as coordinate and contribute qualified decision-making materials to, among others, government agencies and the Government Offices.
You will assist the Government Offices in international contexts and may represent Sweden in organizations such as OECD, FAO, and the EU. Furthermore, you will represent the agency as an expert in other investigations related to blue industries and contribute to spreading knowledge about the area in relevant networks and collaboration forums.
The work requires good oral and written communication skills in both Swedish and English. You need to be comfortable presenting analyses and results to various target groups and be able to adapt content and messages to the context.
The position involves periods of high workload and requires you to be flexible, adaptable, and accustomed to working independently in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and quickly adjust to changing conditions. The position also involves travel both nationally and internationally.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Academic degree in social sciences, such as political science, law, or economics, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent and relevant for the position.
- Documented experience in policy-related investigative work.
- At least three years of relevant work experience in areas that the employer assesses as relevant for the position.
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
It is an advantage if you also have:
- Experience working in a government agency or other public sector.
- Experience in the blue industries, particularly aquaculture and/or the fishing industry.
- Experience in market and trade issues.
- Experience related to the Common Fisheries Policy.

You are curious and have an interest in continuously developing your knowledge in the field. You have good relationship-building skills and enjoy collaboration in various contexts. At the same time, you are stable and secure in your professional role.
