About Us
Torekällberget is the municipal museum of Södertälje with a mission to manage and convey knowledge about the local history of Södertälje and the surrounding area. Torekällberget is a destination, a museum, and a meeting place for both local and long-distance visitors. Each year, the museum is visited by over 100,000 guests. Your Responsibilities
In preparation for the summer of 2026, we are looking for museum hosts for our cultural historical environment, Handelsboden, which includes exhibitions and a shop. The main tasks are:
Opening and closing, as well as basic maintenance and supervision of our play area and craft room, exhibitions, and museum environments.
Conducting daily tours of museum environments/exhibitions.
Staffing and managing our shop and museum store with standard tasks such as sales, ensuring the store is tidy, receiving deliveries, and restocking items.
The positions vary between approximately 40-75%, and we are looking for staff to work from June 11 to August 16. Weekend work is included. We provide work clothes. We are looking for someone who wants to be present and contribute to a joyful and knowledge-rich experience for our visitors. We have a clear child perspective in everything we do at Torekällberget.
Who Are You?
To thrive as a museum host with us, you need to enjoy working with people and understand the importance of good service and a friendly approach. We believe you have previous experience in similar roles, e.g., museums, shops, or other similar environments.
- You have the willingness and ability to meet people of all ages in a responsive, curious, and friendly manner.
- You enjoy working in a team but also taking personal responsibility, showing initiative, and working independently.
- You are outgoing and enjoy the role of host and representative for the organization.
- Your curiosity and willingness to learn are of great importance, and personal suitability will weigh heavily in the recruitment process.
Requirements:
- To be considered for the position, you must be at least 18 years old.
- You are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have very good knowledge of English.
- You have a high school education.
- You have experience speaking in front of an audience.
Meritorious:
- Experience working in an open-air museum, museum, or other visitor attractions with a similar focus.
- Work experience in retail and sales.
- Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English.
- Higher education in cultural historical subjects such as ethnology, history, and/or pedagogy.
