The neonatal area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) consists of two departments; one neonatal department in Malmö and one in Lund. In Malmö, children born from gestational week 28 and onwards are cared for. This can include newborn sick children or premature infants with varying care needs, from light care to intensive care.

The department has 18 care places where we provide everything from intermediate care with CPAP treatment to general observation and nursing with a focus on growth and breastfeeding. We also have elements of intensive care. The length of stay in the department varies from a few hours to weeks and sometimes months. We provide family-centered care with the goal of offering good care to all families and, whenever possible, avoiding separation of child and parent.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for three new colleagues who are pediatric nurses or nursing assistants who want to contribute with commitment and professionalism to our neonatal department!

With us, we work in teams for the child's best interest with the family at the center. As a pediatric nurse/nursing assistant, you will work with patient-centered care together with our nurses. You will alternate between intermediate care and family care, which means a very varied, stimulating, and educational job.

We view knowledge development positively, and you will be offered ongoing professional development together with your colleagues. As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction based on your previous experiences. We assume that everyone has an individual learning process and see it as a given that you will receive support from colleagues to feel secure in your new role. During your first year as a new employee, you will therefore belong to a mentor-led group to ensure that you feel secure in your professional role.

The neonatal care at Sus is the first in the country to train all staff in FINE I-II, which provides in-depth knowledge and learning about the child's behavior and well-being and gives tools to support the child's parents in the best way. If you want to be part of that journey, the chance is now.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied under previous or current program structures. It is highly meritorious if you are a pediatric nurse with a passing grade in the course Sick Children and Adolescents. We would also like you to have previous work experience in neonatal care.

In our work, the meeting with the child and family is central, and you have an important role in creating a safe environment for our patients and their relatives. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and has a positive attitude. You thrive in a sometimes fast-paced work environment and enjoy working in a team while having the ability to take your own initiatives and work independently.
