We are looking for a temporary field assistant who wants to strengthen our socially outreach fieldwork!
The role of the field assistant
The field group consists of 6 field assistants and belongs to the Prevention Unit 1.
The unit primarily targets children and young people aged 0-18 years and their parents living in the Hässelby-Vällingby district. We offer preventive measures and early accessible support.
As a field assistant, your main task is to work with socially outreach fieldwork targeting young people. Work in public arenas takes place both during the day and in the evenings. The working method is characterized by clarity and voluntariness.
As a field assistant, your mission is to broadly create contacts and relationships with young people aged 12-18 years. You enable young people to seek support from you and your colleagues through broad contact creation. You discover and perceive needs among young people by being curious and available, by listening and observing. You and your colleagues act to strengthen protective factors and reduce risk factors among young people. As a field assistant, you work both supportively and guiding to achieve social change and follow up on the interventions. The work is conducted in line with the City of Stockholm's standards for social fieldwork.
The field assistant collaborates with schools, leisure activities, social services, police, and other actors working with children and young people as well as the parents/families/networks of young people.

- As a field assistant in Hässelby-Vällingby, you meet young people and families with different backgrounds and needs. It is a varied job where you have the opportunity to influence young people's lives daily.
Field Assistant, Prevention Unit 1
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Degree in Social Work
- Experience working with children and young people in social work
- Driver's license (B)
It is an advantage if you have experience working with young people in vulnerable life situations. You should enjoy working outreach in youth environments during evenings and weekends.
You should have an easy time creating relationships with young people and important adults in the youth's life. As a person, you are engaged and driven, with a good ability to work independently and flexibly. You have excellent collaboration skills and the ability to see and understand how different professions have different assignments and can work together. Furthermore, you are attentive and secure; a good reception is important to you in your professional role.
Our area - First Line Individual and Family
The Department for Individual and Family in the Hässelby-Vällingby district administration gathers about 290 employees and consists of four different areas: Promotion, First Line, Children and Young People, and Adults. The First Line area consists of five different units that together offer preventive and early interventions for children, young people, and adults, as well as the social services reception for children, young people, and adults, and family law.

The position is a temporary position until March 2027. You will work on a schedule with working hours allocated to both day and evening.
