School Counselor at Töjnaskolan

Töjnaskolan is a school with approximately 800 students from preschool to grade 9.

For the academic year 25/26, we have three parallel classes in each grade from preschool to grade 9. The school is located in central Sollentuna with good transportation links in new, fine, and adapted premises. The operation is based on a value foundation where the vision is Töjnaskolan KAN - Knowledge, Responsibility, and Curiosity. Our staff works in teams, and collegial learning is a natural part of our staff's efforts to provide our students with the best possible education. Everyone should feel safe, and everyone should collaborate to create the best conditions for the development of each student.

Job Description

Our focus is to create good conditions for our students to develop and achieve good results. We are now looking for a counselor who can coordinate and bring to life the school's well-being and safety work.

You will work preventively and health-promoting and be part of the school's student health team. You contribute with psychosocial competence in work at the individual, group, and organizational levels in the school. You collaborate with our other counselor, student supporters, other student health staff, and our School Sports Association.

Together with the principal and our other counselor, you are responsible for cases of harassment. The position includes preparing reports of concern.

You easily create trusting relationships and are empathetic and responsible in your work. You also easily take your own initiatives and enjoy being involved in developing both the operation and our approach to our students. Working in a team around the students feels natural to you.

You are a clear leader who can inspire activities and support students during their breaks and free time, as well as create and provide support in the form of conversations, study support, and student coaching during the school day.

The position is a permanent employment with a probationary period.

Qualifications

You are present, engaged, and used to taking responsibility for students' learning. It is also important that you are self-driven and can lead, motivate, and create engagement among students that contributes to their development. You have good collaborative skills and work well with others and can relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner.

We are looking for someone with an appropriate university education, such as a behavioral scientist or social worker. You should have experience in social work in schools. Additional training in areas such as motivational interviewing, coaching, or similar is an advantage. Good leadership skills are essential in your role.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
