S:t Lars Congregation is looking for a City Priest

S:t Lars Congregation is an inner-city congregation located in the heart of Linköping, surrounded by shops, entertainment, and a vibrant flow of people. S:t Lars Church, with roots and history dating back to the early 1000s, aims to be a city church. The congregation is a place for growth in faith and life, fostering warm community between God and people, as well as among people.

We are now seeking a city priest who wants to help create an open and welcoming space for all the city's inhabitants. Here, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various local actors in Linköping to make the city center a place for human connection.

About the Job

As a priest with us, you will become part of a team currently consisting of 12 people. We work closely together, and the job will involve both independent and collaborative group work. We are dedicated to our cross-parish initiative focusing on confirmands and youth, and you will be part of a competent team that is positive about development.

The position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Participation in efforts to make S:t Lars Church an open, accessible church and meeting place in the city
  • Staffing the church space during opening hours and being available for conversations
  • Worship services, including many musical services and concerts
  • Participation in the work and development of the Evening Open Church on Fridays
  • Confirmands and youth
  • Camps
  • School contacts
  • Various discussion groups
  • Regular priest duties

The work will take place during daytime, evenings, and weekends.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a priest in the Church of Sweden
  • Wants to meet people of all ages
  • Is flexible and can handle unforeseen situations
  • Has good planning and organizational skills
  • Has strong communication skills
  • Considers the whole and the best interests of the organization
  • Values community in the workplace

It is also important that you are committed and development-oriented to help us at S:t Lars move the congregation forward. To succeed in this role, you need to be confident in your priestly role, have a good ability to build relationships, and appreciate collaborating with both colleagues and external actors. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
