Your Responsibilities

As a counselor at the Resource Schools, you will be part of the school's student health team and contribute a social and psychosocial perspective to the development of the educational activities as part of the student health's health-promoting and preventive mission. You will also provide psychosocial expertise in student matters.

You will be part of the school's group for Safety and Study Peace, where you work proactively, preventively, and remedially at the individual, group, and organizational levels to contribute to increased safety and study peace in the school.

You will have conversations with youth and guardians, both individually and in groups. You will also work with crisis management and promote equal treatment while preventing discrimination, harassment, and bullying.

You will promote school attendance and investigate the causes of problematic school absenteeism. You will conduct social investigations and observations.

Your Workplace

The Resource Schools consist of six primary schools for grades 1-9 for students with action programs who need extra support in their school development, socially and pedagogically. The goal is to provide students with adapted conditions for a functioning school experience in a smaller context.

The schools operate in smaller groups with high staff density, where there is also an opportunity to practice social interaction. Staff support guardians in their parenting and collaborate with various authorities and individuals in the student's/family's vicinity. In the different schools, educators meet students in their own facilities. Teaching is conducted based on each student's conditions and needs, where students are offered all subjects. Students are met by clear, safe, and stable adults. The working teams have mixed competencies with both teachers and resource educators. We work closely with the students and base our work on the needs that arise.

Your workplace is located at Brigadgatan 14, where we have our office. The student health and school management also have their offices there.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in social work or behavioral science with a psychological investigation of 180 credits or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. A degree in social work is an advantage.

• It is advantageous to have a course in social law or similar.
• Previous experience in social work aimed at children and youth is required.
• Previous experience as a counselor in a school setting is advantageous.

As a person, you are comfortable leading group discussions. You are interested in people and are good at collaborating with other professionals in the school and have the ability to create networks.

You are attentive and skilled in communication. You can adapt your communication based on whom you are meeting. You also have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

As a person, you have a high energy level and are confident in your role. You strive to motivate and inspire students every day. You plan and organize your work while being adaptable to the changes that may occur in daily work.
