Support Assistant at Leonardsbergsvägen

Do you want a role where you work closely with people and make a real difference every day? Where relationships, perseverance, and motivating others are crucial for creating lasting change? Then you could be our new Support Assistant at Leonardsbergsvägen!

Who are we?

The Social Office in Norrköping Municipality focuses on individual needs, always prioritizing the best interests of children. It should be easy to get help. Our support and treatment efforts maintain high quality and are based on legally secure assessments. We aim to find solutions close to the individual and contribute to a positive change for them. Together, we want to create safety and good social services for those of us living in Norrköping.

Leonardsbergsvägen 16 is an LSS group home with six apartments where 6 individuals reside, located on the outskirts of Norrköping with nature and a calm environment. The residents are primarily older adults. The residence belongs to social psychiatry and encompasses mental health issues, comorbidity, and in some cases, addiction problems. Here, we work from a user-oriented approach to ensure that users achieve a good quality of life and a meaningful everyday life.

We are an engaged workgroup driven to provide users with support and services based on their individual needs to enable independence, self-determination, and participation.

We are now looking for a secure, creative, and competent colleague who wants to contribute to the development of the team, our methods, and our important work for those we are here for!

Your responsibilities

As a Support Assistant with us, you will have a meaningful and challenging role in direct work with our 6 adult users where you can truly make a difference!

You will contribute structure, direction, and quality to the pedagogical work with the goal of ensuring that our residents have a well-functioning and valuable everyday life and activities. A low-arousal approach permeates the operations, as does a strong focus on motivation, independence, and finding new paths forward – even when change meets resistance.

You support and motivate the residents in their daily lives, based on individual needs and implementation plans. The work is relationship-based and compensatory – you support where the individual struggles to manage daily life. This may involve structure in the home, cleaning, cooking, planning the day, and support in social contexts.

Our team consists of support assistants and support educators with overarching responsibilities who, together with the unit manager, drive processes and work forward. Teamwork is central, and around each resident, there is a clear assignment where the support educator and two support assistants collaborate. You will also collaborate with healthcare through regular rehabilitation meetings, and your role includes documentation in Combine and medication delegation with a focus on developing methods and structure together with the team.

Solo work does not occur during the day or evening, only during sleeping duty at night, and there are clear routines, alarms, and access to nearby colleagues as well as awake staff in the house.

With us, perseverance, creativity, and the ability to remain steady in your profession are important parts of your working method for you to thrive and succeed in your role as a Support Assistant.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma in care and welfare, such as a nursing assistant, child and leisure studies with a social focus, or other education that the employer deems relevant. You have experience working with people, preferably from LSS or social psychiatry.

Furthermore, you are secure in yourself, creative, and have the ability to motivate others – even when results take time and require patience.

You are stable as a person and have good self-awareness, distinguishing between the personal and the professional. You are skilled at building trusting relationships and enjoy working in a team where you encourage teamwork. You actively contribute to group processes and a good work environment.

Additionally, you take independent responsibility for structuring your tasks effectively, being flexible, and always wanting to be part of the solution with the best interests of the operation in focus!

We seek someone who creates motivation and inspires the individuals you meet to achieve their goals and purposes. Since communication is central to the role, we see that you communicate well in Swedish both orally and in writing and are confident in documentation. A driver's license (B) is desirable as the residence is located near nature and lacks public transport.

The staff is one of the most important factors in the residents' lives – and the impact you have is often greater than you think. This is an important, meaningful, and rewarding role where you receive much in return.

Does this sound like a role for you? We warmly welcome your application!
