School Counselor at Vrinneviskolan

Do you have a solution-focused approach and the ability to meet each individual based on their circumstances? Then you could be our new school counselor at Vrinneviskolan!

Who are we?

Vrinneviskolan is a relatively newly built school located on the border between Hageby and Navestad, which means we are a young organization. By the start of the 2024 school year, we will be fully developed. Next year, our new craft house will also be in place. We are a two-parallel F-6 school with about 275 students.

The operations at Vrinneviskolan should be characterized by safety, well-being, and joy at work, with the student at the center. Vrinneviskolan is a school for everyone. We have an active values-based work that is based on respect and pleasant interactions. All students should feel included, and the operations should be characterized by participation.

The teaching is based on a language and knowledge-developing approach and aims to spark curiosity, foster a love of learning, be challenging, and provide opportunities for success based on each student's circumstances and needs.

Our staff is positive, ambitious, and competent, and we are now looking for someone who can help maintain our high quality. We are seeking a colleague on a temporary contract to cover for a parental leave.

Your responsibilities

As a school counselor at Vrinneviskolan, you will be a central part of our support team and work closely with students, teachers, and parents to create a positive and supportive school environment. You will be responsible for systematic attendance work and be the school's attendance representative. You will handle and be part of the assessment of incoming reports of harassment. You will be part of the school's Student Health Team and lead the Safety Team and the school's values-based work.

You will participate in various networks that support your profession, such as counseling for counselors, area networks for counselors, and the municipal network for attendance representatives. Your work will include maintaining and developing the school's external collaborations as part of the preventive values-based work.

You will also play an important role in collaboration with external authorities such as Social Services and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP).

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work, behavioral science, or another qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Experience working with children and youth in schools or other authorities is viewed positively.

We would like you to have knowledge of the ProRenata system and experience with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF). It is also advantageous if you have knowledge of and experience with motivational interviewing (MI).

You have a solution-focused approach and the ability to meet each individual based on their circumstances. You enjoy driving your work independently while also being able to collaborate, analyze, and see connections. You can adapt your working methods to different situations and approach new tasks constructively.

You strive to produce careful and thoughtful work and ensure that the results are of high quality. You are honest and reliable in your work, take responsibility for difficult issues, and handle them with respect and objectivity.

We see you as a stable and secure person who can build trust with students, their guardians, and other staff. You are communicative and have a good ability to conduct structured and motivating conversations. You should be able to handle various psychosocial issues competently and empathetically.

You communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Welcome with your application!
