Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule of days, evenings, and weekends.

The employment begins with a number of days of local introduction, which includes conflict management and subsequent introductory shifts in the departments.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You should also have:

  • A degree or ongoing education from at least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent. Exceptions can be made from the education requirement, but only if there are special reasons*. A special reason could be, for example, that you have long professional experience or other relevant competence.
  • A valid driver's license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care
  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Correctional Officer
  • Education in care and support
  • Experience working with children and young people with NPF diagnoses and IF.

*Exceptions can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

Employment:

The position is a temporary employment on an hourly basis.
