We are now looking for two Support Educators for the LSS short-term activities for children & youth in Söderköping Municipality. We are part of Support and Service, which also includes group and service housing, daily activities, and personal assistance. The work group of 8 employees consists of both support educators, support assistants, and nursing assistants with varying competencies and experiences.

As an employee with us, you provide support in everyday life based on a pedagogical approach. Care and support are provided based on the individual's needs, integrity, and self-determination. Together with your colleagues, you work to involve the individual in their own daily life based on given conditions. You will provide support for individuals with diagnoses within NPF and intellectual disabilities. Interventions vary from compensatory to supportive. You should be comfortable performing interventions, including personal care, cooking, medication management (self-care), cleaning, and maintaining social contacts and relationships. Our work is governed by the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons.

As an employee within Support and Service, you have the opportunity to enhance your skills and gain valuable experience by working in several operations with different types of needs and challenges.

Job Description

In the role of support educator, you work to create a meaningful leisure time after school and during evenings and weekends. All support interventions, such as activities, cooking, communication, and care, are based on the individual's needs and wishes in accordance with LSS legislation and Söderköping Municipality's values.

As a support educator, you have a supportive role in developing the work based on each individual's needs for increased participation and independence. In collaboration with your colleagues, you develop methodology within clarifying pedagogy. The work includes case management, social documentation, and following up on the goals of interventions according to applicable requirements. Cleaning, laundry, and administrative tasks are also included in the assignment.

You have a reflective working method with the individual in focus. You have a pedagogical approach and guide your colleagues in the work with social documentation such as implementation plans and action plans. You are involved and driving in the development and improvement work of the operation.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained support educator or has another relevant education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have experience working based on clarifying pedagogy and apply a low-arousal approach in your work. You have experience working with children and young people with interventions within LSS. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of sign language or signs as support.

Computer skills and the ability to express yourself in speech and writing are required. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in the operational system Lifecare.

You are responsible, have good communication skills, and are used to collaborating in a team. You also have a positive attitude towards your work and enjoy meeting people.

A driver's license (B) is required.
