Our Offer
The Interpreting Center is a unit within the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic of Region Östergötland, and our mission covers the entire region.
Through the Deaf Team, we offer competent and security-creating psychosocial support to adults who are deaf from childhood. We also provide interpreting services with high availability and broad competence to deaf, deafblind, hard of hearing individuals, and to persons with disabilities related to voice, speech, or language difficulties.

Job Description
As a support educator in the Deaf Team, you will provide support to adults who are deaf from childhood in order to prevent and reduce the difficulties that deafness can entail in life. You will be a guiding educator for clients in contacts with authorities, employers, and organizations, for example. In your work, you will primarily offer individual consultations. An important part of the work is also to convey knowledge about Deaf culture and living conditions, as well as to drive overarching issues based on the accessibility needs of the target group in society. As a team member and in the unit, you will be involved in both the development and improvement work of the Deaf Team's activities and the unit.
Work Group
The Deaf Team in Östergötland is a uniquely composed team, and through collaboration between Region Östergötland, Norrköping Municipality, and Linköping Municipality, a broad competence is created in the team for valuable access to societal support measures. You will work closely with an experienced colleague in the unit and collaborate with two colleagues belonging to the municipalities.
About You
We see that you are an educated social worker, social educator, or have another relevant post-secondary education within social work that the employer assesses as equivalent.
Previous social pedagogical work with the deaf group is meritorious.
You have good computer skills as well as very good knowledge of the Swedish spoken and written language and can communicate in sign language. A driver's license (B) is a requirement.

You take great responsibility for your work tasks and are structured. To succeed in your efforts, you also have the ability to take initiative and drive your processes forward.
