Your Responsibilities

In the role of vocational supervisor, you will work to practically guide participants in labor market initiatives. This means providing professional support, creating structure in daily work, and contributing to participants' development towards increased work capacity and independence.

In furniture service, you will work together with a team leader and participants in labor market initiatives in the four different areas of the operation:

• Handling incoming and outgoing furniture and disassembly for recycling.
• Cleaning furniture.
• Service and assembly.
• Sewing and reupholstering.

The core activity consists of daily work together with participants and employees. In your work, you contribute to a work-like environment with clear vocational guidance, support, and motivation. Within the framework of the Production unit, you may also support work in other groups. As a vocational supervisor, you will also collaborate with other actors within the municipality to jointly support the participant in their development.

Your Workplace

The Integration and Labor Market Administration has about 350 employees in the Department of Work and Support (ALF) and the Department of Labor Market Initiatives (AMI). We strengthen the opportunities for residents of Linköping who are dependent on financial assistance to become self-sufficient and independent. Our main mission is to work on the development of participants/employees who are in a labor market initiative. The ultimate goal for these individuals is to move on to studies and/or work with or without support in the regular labor market. This position belongs to the Department of Labor Market Initiatives (AMI), Production Unit, and the Furniture Service operation.

We are now looking for a vocational supervisor focused on furniture service within the Integration and Labor Market Administration at the Production Unit in Tornby. The furniture service acts as an internal supplier within the municipality and assists with reused furniture. In the unit, furniture is stored, cleaned, reupholstered, serviced, and assembled before being distributed to the municipality's operations.

The workplace is located at Dvärggatan 4 in Tornby, and working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours applicable.

You Who Are Applying

We are looking for someone with a completed upper secondary education. We see that you have experience in industrial sewing and pattern making for reupholstering furniture. If you have previous experience in leading/mentoring individuals in need of extra support, it is considered an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have experience working in educational activities.

As you will be guiding others verbally and also producing simpler written instructions, proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement. We also require that you have a B driver's license for manual transmission, as there may be movement between different operations within Linköping Municipality.

To succeed in this role, you need to be able to plan and organize your work effectively. Since you work closely with both colleagues and participants, it is crucial that you work well with others and listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. As you act as a supervisor, you also need to have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and be able to adapt your way of conveying messages/instructions depending on the recipient. Since no day is the same and you may assist in other groups within the production unit, it is important that you can easily adapt to changing circumstances. Furthermore, we see that you take initiative, start activities, and take responsibility for your tasks.
