Strategic Controller for Lidingö City

Do you want to play a key role in creating good economic conditions for the city's youth as well as our sports and cultural life? We are now looking for a strategic and operationally close controller who wants to combine analysis with a coaching approach!

As a controller with us, you are not just a number cruncher – you are a strategic partner to our managers. You belong to the department for financing and administrative coordination, which consists of 13 people, including three economists. We are part of the learning and culture administration, which is one of our six administrations in Lidingö City.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your mission as a controller is to provide the administration's managers with the tools and decision-making support they need to run their operations effectively. You participate in various collaborative contexts, serve as a sounding board in financial matters, and translate complex numbers into understandable insights and practical advice.

In this role, you will be involved in the administration's financial processes, and your main tasks include:

• Analysis and follow-up: Participate in the work with budgets, forecasts, monthly and annual accounts.
• Strategic support: Assist managers in financial planning and decision-making.
• Political support: Prepare decision-making documents and reports for committees and politicians.
• Quality assurance: Work with internal control, state grant management, and financial summaries.
• Development: Through environmental monitoring and networking, you contribute to developing our routines and processes to meet future needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in economics and several years of experience in qualified financial work, preferably within politically governed operations. You have excellent skills in Excel (you are comfortable with complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis). If you also have experience with the city's financial system Unit4, we consider it an advantage. For the role, it is required that you have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

You who apply are pedagogical and have the ability to explain economics in a way that is understandable for non-economists. To succeed in the role, you have good collaboration skills and are analytical.

OTHER

The city applies individual salary setting. Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period. Start date May 4, 2026, or by agreement.
