GUTS is a meeting place in Angered for those who identify as girls.

We offer an open leisure activity three evenings a week. Here, young people can do homework, dance, participate in creative activities, or just hang out and meet friends or talk to us adults. We run a leisure activity based on an intersectional foundation with a strong focus on being a promoting and rights-educating work, as well as providing support in the situation many girls find themselves in. The need for a safe space is great, and we have a well-visited activity for young people aged 13 to 20. Our focus is on youth in Northeast Gothenburg, but everyone is welcome!

One of our colleagues is moving on to a new assignment, and we are now looking for a leisure assistant for a permanent position. You will be one of four leisure assistants in the team at GUTS, and your tasks will include being responsible for the open meeting place three evenings a week, organizing and offering activities, providing support and information, empowerment, and supporting the young people in taking their own initiative and responsibility for activities. With relationship work as a basis, we work developmentally in a safe and separatist space. We strive for the young people to have high participation in the design of the activities. We work with special holiday activities and have summer jobs with a norm-critical focus. We are now developing regular work in schools in Northeast Gothenburg.

You will guide young people to professional services in more serious issues such as honor-related matters. We have good cooperation with several organizations and associations to bring in expertise and a breadth to the content of the activities. We work in the schools in the area with a focus on norm criticism and activities for girls.

Now we need a new colleague with high competence, a big heart, and feet on the ground.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for someone with a university degree as a social worker, behavioral scientist, educator, or equivalent, alternatively trained leisure leader with several years of experience in similar work. It is an advantage if you are multilingual. If you have studied gender science, that is also an advantage.

You need to have experience working with gender-related assignments focusing on women or girls' situations. It is good if you have experience working with honor-related issues with young people. You also need to have solid knowledge of working in a multicultural environment and about the situation of girls and women in migrating families. You are well-grounded in working norm-critically and based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child and human rights. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people and has experience in that area. Most of those who come to GUTS are in middle school and high school.

In this role, it is important that you are a stable and secure person. You enjoy being around young people and are socially confident. You have a good and constructive approach and a good ability to create a safe and pleasant environment where you are comfortable being the one who sets boundaries when needed. You are clear in your professional role and act professionally in situations where others question you or make unreasonable demands. You are responsible and have the ability to establish clear goals and plan activities and projects in good time.

You need to be comfortable speaking in front of others about the work at GUTS.

We are looking for someone who enjoys doing activities with young people, has an active personality, likes dance or sports, or perhaps is creative and enjoys creating. It is good if you have knowledge of anti-racist work or experience working in a multicultural environment, as we meet many girls from migrating families. We work with participation and influence in the activities; the young people are involved in shaping what we do at GUTS.
