Social Worker for the Reception Group, Children and Youth Unit

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the Ale of tomorrow. With us, you will deliver services of the highest quality to the residents of Ale. Together, 2,500 employees create Ale, the municipality that focuses on its inhabitants and their needs. Become one of us!

About the Workplace

We are now looking for a social worker for the Reception Group, Children and Youth Unit in Ale municipality.

Do you enjoy driving improvement processes and are passionate about making a tangible difference for children and families? Then we would love to hear from you!

The Children and Youth Unit is part of the Individual and Family Care (IFO). In addition to the Children and Youth Unit, IFO consists of Employment and Income Support, Adult Unit, Family Support Unit, and Foster Care and Family Law Unit. The latter unit shares a floor with our unit. All units collaborate closely to meet the needs of those we serve in the best possible way.

Your future workplace in Children and Youth is led by a unit manager and two senior social workers. The unit is divided into three groups: a reception group and two groups of social workers who investigate children and youth aged 0-18 years. Additionally, we have a social administrator in the group who relieves our work with administrative tasks.

The office is centrally located in Nödinge center and is easily accessible by public transport.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a social worker in the Reception Group include processing incoming reports or applications for the target group aged 0-18 years according to SoL and LVU. You will also write statements regarding young offenders.

You will be responsible for the on-call/emergency phone on a rotating schedule, which is open during office hours, and will have a consulting role to guide and refer both professionals and private individuals who contact us with concerns about a child.

We offer an enjoyable and developing assignment where your commitment to children and youth, social work, and the opportunity to release resources for people in vulnerable life situations is valued.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed a degree in social work or meets the requirements set by the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding work with children and youth. You need to have knowledge of applicable legislation and experience in handling child and/or youth cases supported by BBIC. The work is conducted according to SoL, LVU, and other applicable legislation. It is a significant advantage if you have experience working in a reception group.

We want you to be independent, meticulous, and have a good ability to structure and plan your tasks. You also need to have a very good ability to collaborate. You should be open and curious about trying new working methods, and we would like you to be interested in helping to develop the operations. Your work requires personal maturity to meet the challenges that arise. Since the work often involves meeting people in crisis and/or with complex life situations, it is important that you can see opportunities, convey hope, and meet people in a respectful manner. The job requires you to have a B driver's license.

We collaborate extensively both within the unit and externally with other professional groups, so this needs to be a working method you are comfortable with. You should have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
