About the Job
On January 12, 2026, we opened the doors to something new, a residence in Billdal for six individuals with intellectual disabilities.
We are now looking for a new colleague who wants to join us on our exciting journey to build a new workplace, a place where people can develop and grow into a better version of themselves.
We are looking for someone who not only wants to be part of this but also wants to influence, build, drive, and change. Are you a curious and fearless person who wants to help create the future residence from the ground up? Then this is your next step.
As a support assistant, you play a crucial role in creating safe, stable frameworks for our tenants. You understand that genuine development requires self-determination and takes time. You contribute to ensuring quality through social documentation and implementation plans with meaning in focus. You collaborate with your colleagues to create structures and routines where users feel like the main characters in their own lives. You know that a well-functioning workgroup is built on mutual trust and that each person takes their share of responsibility.
You see pedagogy as a collective responsibility where everyone contributes their thoughts and ideas to deepen, enrich, and further develop the pedagogical methods in the unit. You collaborate with the unit manager, relatives, and networks, always with the individual's best interest as your compass. This is a mission where you can influence from the start, create culture, routines, and safety, where nothing is "that's how we've always done it".
You will work days, evenings, and every other weekend according to the schedule.
About You
We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care Program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
To be considered for a position with us, you must meet the following requirements:
- You have experience with intellectual disabilities and autism.
- You have experience working in a low-arousal manner, which should be the working method you prefer.
- You have experience with users with complex needs and with residences that have high care needs.
- To document, you need to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing, which means a requirement for passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the testing user EducateIt.
It is advantageous if you have experience with any of the following working methods:
- Alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)
- Motivational interviewing (MI)
- Independent living (IL)
We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their own and the group's tasks. You are attentive and open to understanding the needs, feelings, and opinions of others. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You are motivated to learn new things and develop. You come up with new ideas and take the initiative for improvements.
