The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Description

Alingsås Hospital provides emergency and planned specialist healthcare around the clock within several specialties.

The hospital has over 100 inpatient beds for round-the-clock care, as well as outpatient services and an emergency department that is open every day from 08:00 to 21:00. We maintain a trusting dialogue with our patients, continuously develop our care processes, and have achieved good medical results for a long time.

In a combined intensive care and intermediate care unit, we treat patients in need of, among other things, ventilator treatment, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and CRRT, as well as establishing vascular access and percutaneous drainage.

The operating department has seven operating rooms and staff working within the units of anesthesia, postoperative unit, surgery, and sterile supply. The assignment is broad, making the work varied and stimulating. Everything from simple day surgery procedures to urgent and planned extensive surgery is performed here. We anesthetize children for urgent, primarily orthopedic procedures and elective ENT procedures.

The ICU and operating department at Alingsås Hospital belong to the area of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care at the Hospitals in the West. The area also includes day surgery operations at Angered Local Hospital and Högsbo Local Hospital, as well as round-the-clock operations in the operating department and ICU at Kungälv Hospital.

Responsibilities

Standard responsibilities for a consultant/specialist physician in anesthesiology, including anesthesia for children. The work involves service in both the operating and intensive care units and is planned to meet the operational needs at both Alingsås Hospital and Högsbo Local Hospital, with an approximate distribution of 75%/25%.

Qualifications

Specialist competence in anesthesia and intensive care with broad experience in the specialty. We value your interest in teamwork, operational development, and teaching. Research experience is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and the ability to work independently.

Conditions

The work involves service at all hours of the day (regular on-call duty).

Workload can be discussed, interviews are conducted continuously.
