Saab Tactical Electronics AB (STEAB) is a company that develops rugged hardware, primarily for military customers. The work spans the entire lifecycle, from feasibility studies, development, testing, procurement, and production to after-sales service.

Examples of technology areas within the company include:

• Computers, primarily delivered with OS and drivers, where the customer adds their application software. They should be upgradeable within FFF (Form Fit Function) both in software and hardware.

• Other peripherals such as repeaters, keyboards, and KVM switches.

• Displays connected to cameras or computers adapted for harsh climates.

• Switches and tactical routers, based on buildroot and yocto, modifications are made from purchased and open-source software to meet set needs.

• Cameras and adapters for third-party cameras, IR and Daylight. STEAB is world-leading in low latency video transmission, which is a requirement for operating a vehicle based on a camera image without getting motion sickness.

Your Responsibilities

As STEAB grows, they are now looking for a software developer to join their team. In this role, you will have contact with several parts of the organization and work closely with electronics developers in your daily tasks.

STEAB has a wide range of products and a large customer base, which means continuous work to further develop and modernize the products. The development encompasses several computer platforms, including desktops, laptops, and systems with built-in displays, as well as peripherals such as repeaters, KVM switches, and keyboards.

The group also conducts MCU development for several products, where work with various interfaces and communication solutions is included. You will be part of a smaller team where each individual is expected to take significant personal responsibility, work independently while closely collaborating with colleagues.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who enjoys a varied workday, developing new products, and finding solutions to customer requests for future products.

Requirements for the Position:

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field for the position.

• Several years of work experience in a similar area.

• Good knowledge of C programming. It is also an advantage if you know Python and C++.

• You should feel comfortable in both Linux and Windows environments.

• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
