About UsAleris Rehab Station is a national and international rehabilitation center. We assist patients with acquired and congenital spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, and neurological injuries and diseases. We also offer personal assistance. We are located in a large, beautiful building in Frösundavik in Solna, a combination of old barrack facilities, new living rooms, treatment rooms, and a restaurant. We have extensive research and educational activities and a well-developed teamwork. We also have a clinic focusing on MS in Liljeholmen. Aleris Rehab Station is part of Aleris Närsjukvård, which also includes ASIH, two specialized palliative care departments, Basic home care, and Uppsala Närakut.
The RoleWe are looking for a personal assistant for a 35-year-old man who is in a wheelchair and has a spinal cord injury. As a personal assistant, your tasks will include supporting and helping him with his daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, transfers, assisting with meals, cleaning, and accompanying him to various activities. The client speaks for himself and lives with his partner and two children. The client values his personal and private time highly, so as an assistant, you need to be able to be nearby while also being able to step back to allow for private life. Working hours will be scheduled during the day as well as evenings/nights with on-call duty at night.

It is important that you act with common sense and have a strong customer focus. You need to have a well-developed sense of timing and understand when to be active and when to be passive in your work. You need to be able to communicate clearly and be unpretentious in putting the client's needs/space first, as well as being able to manage a family with everyday tasks. Experience in handling catheters or knowledge of RIK is an advantage.
BackgroundYou are a person with a strong interest in working with people. This role requires prior experience working as a personal assistant and/or in healthcare and social care. A requirement for this position is that you master the Swedish language very well in both spoken and written form.
