Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a school counselor for Lindeborg School!

In the role of counselor with us, you will actively work for our students in need of special support from a social and psychosocial perspective. Your expertise contributes to ensuring that appropriate measures for students in need of special support from a social and psychosocial perspective are considered and offered. You will work closely with your colleagues to create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational levels. Your expertise is part of the school's student health team where you contribute knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, learning, development, etc.

We also see that you are involved in the school's activities by participating where our students are, such as during breaks, meetings, lessons as needed, etc.

You will also:

  • Conduct school social assessments and social evaluations as needed.
  • Offer guidance, consultation, and advice to school staff from a social perspective.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with students, guardians, school staff, and, if necessary, external actors regarding measures for students.
  • Cooperate with authorities and organizations in preventive work related to the school or the city of Malmö.

Qualifications

You have a degree in social work and at least two years of experience in social work focused on children and youth. We would prefer if you have experience working as a school counselor.

You have good insight into the school's goals and governing documents, knowledge of other administrations, and for example, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), as well as knowledge of practices and guidelines in the field.

As a person, you are curious and have a desire to work with your colleagues to ensure that all our students reach their full potential. You have a good ability to create relationships that can lead to development with colleagues, guardians, and students. You have a good ability to work independently when needed and to drive your own work forward.
