The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.

Job Description

Do you want to help create life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue with us at SiS Youth Home Fagared is a meaningful job for you. We are now strengthening our staff with more treatment pedagogues for our departments in Lindome.

In the departments in Lindome, we work to implement closed youth care for the target group of boys who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty under the law on closed youth care. We also have a treatment department with a particularly enhanced mission where we receive young people with extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric issues, including a combination of autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, PTSD, self-harm behavior, and severe outwardly aggressive behavior.

As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans and implementation plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to the smooth running of daily activities such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns.

This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in supporting young people in difficult life situations. The work can be demanding at times, but it is also very rewarding, varied, and filled with meaning. Our vision is to be a place for change. This shapes our approach, commitment, and attitude.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are secure in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
