Through our core values of courage, tolerance, and creativity, we in Uppvidinge Municipality work to provide good service and develop essential community functions for our residents, visitors, and businesses. Uppvidinge Municipality is the largest employer in the municipality with approximately 800 employees. We want our employees to feel a strong sense of participation, and there should be room for flexibility and development.

We offer a meaningful job where we together have the opportunity to truly make a difference for the municipality's residents. Welcome with your application and welcome to a municipality with a thriving business community, a rich association life, and proximity to nature!

The Individual and Family Care in Uppvidinge Municipality is part of the Welfare and Care Administration. With us, we work closely together and close to those we are here for. Our mission is to provide protection, support, and assistance for change – with the individual and family at the center.

We are a smaller organization, which means short decision-making paths, close leadership, and good opportunities for collaboration across unit boundaries. We have challenges to take care of, but we do it together. No one stands alone in difficult cases – we help each other, share knowledge, and take joint responsibility for finding the best solutions for children and families.

The Child and Family Unit consists of reception, investigative social workers, child caseworkers, family therapists, and foster care caseworkers. Our senior social workers are close to the operations and contribute with case-related support in daily work. We are located in Lenhovda, about 30 minutes from Växjö, with free parking and a bus stop outside.

We are facing an important transition with the new Social Services Act. This means an increased focus on preventive work, early interventions, and collaboration. With us, you will have the opportunity to influence how we develop our working methods and shape the future of social services – in practice, together with colleagues and partners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a foster care caseworker with us, you will work on recruiting, investigating, and guiding foster homes. We have a political decision in the municipality to reduce our placement costs and are in a development phase to make the necessary changes. For us, this means a transition from having several placements through consultant-supported companies to increasingly working with our own foster homes. Our foster care caseworkers have done a fantastic job in this direction over the past year, and we are well on our way to achieving our goal. We already see several positive effects, in addition to the purely economic benefits of working with our own foster homes. Since the beginning of the year, we have had our own contracted emergency home to strengthen the quality in acute situations that may arise during placements. This is because guidance and ongoing support and contact between our foster care caseworkers and our own foster homes benefit the quality of care for our placed children. In your role, you will work closely with your colleagues, who are either foster care caseworkers or child caseworkers. We investigate foster homes according to the method of A Lasting Relationship. If you do not have that training, you will receive it when you start with us. We work in the operational system Lifecare. Business trips are included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent qualifications who wants to work with children and families in an organization where collaboration and shared responsibility are central. You are confident in yourself, structured, and have the ability to prioritize even when the work is complex. You are attentive, unpretentious, and have a good approach in meetings with both children, families, and partners.

Experience in public authority practice or treatment work within child welfare is an advantage. Knowledge of Signs of Safety, honor-related issues, and children's exposure to violence is advantageous. You express yourself well in both speech and writing. A driver's license (B) is required. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

OTHER

If you are considered for employment, the employer will request an extract from the criminal record. The municipal council has decided that all new hires must present a criminal record extract before employment. The extract to be presented is the one for work within schools or preschools.

To ensure the quality of the recruitment process in Uppvidinge Municipality and enable good communication with our applicants, we ask you to submit your application digitally and not via email or paper format.

In preparation for the recruitment work, Uppvidinge Municipality has taken a stance on recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore firmly request no contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, or similar.
