Through our core values of courage, tolerance, and creativity, we in Uppvidinge Municipality strive to provide good service and develop essential community functions for our residents, visitors, and businesses. Uppvidinge Municipality is the largest employer in the municipality with approximately 800 employees. We want our employees to feel a strong sense of involvement, with room for flexibility and development.

We offer a meaningful job where together we can truly make a difference for the municipality's residents. Welcome with your application and welcome to a municipality with a thriving business community, a rich association life, and proximity to nature!

About Us

The Individual and Family Care in Uppvidinge Municipality is part of the Welfare and Care Administration. Here, we work closely together and with those we serve. Our mission is to provide protection, support, and assistance for change – with the individual and family at the center.

We are a smaller organization, which means short decision-making paths, close leadership, and good opportunities for collaboration across unit boundaries. We face challenges, but we tackle them together. No one stands alone in difficult cases – we help each other, share knowledge, and take joint responsibility to find the best solutions for children and families.

The Child and Family Unit consists of reception, investigative social workers, child social workers, family therapists, and family home social workers. Our senior social workers are close to the operations and provide case-related support in daily work. We are located in Lenhovda, about 30 minutes from Växjö, with free parking and a bus stop outside.

We are facing an important transition due to the new Social Services Act. This means an increased focus on preventive work, early interventions, and collaboration. Here, you will have the opportunity to influence how we develop our working methods and shape the future of social services – in practice, together with colleagues and partners.

Job Responsibilities

The work involves exercising authority within child and family services for ages 0-20 years. You will work either in our reception or as an investigative social worker. Case management is conducted according to SoL and LVU with BBIC as a basis. We work in the Lifecare operational system.

We now need to hire a social worker for the Reception/Investigation workgroup. Our reception secretary is responsible for receiving and handling reports and applications that come in. You will work closely with our investigative social workers within Child and Family as well as our senior social workers. To thrive in the role, you need to be driven and enjoy juggling multiple tasks simultaneously. You have an eye for what needs to be done and are confident in taking the initiative to ensure that necessary tasks are completed. As the inflow is often uneven, you need to have good stress management skills to handle peaks calmly, effectively, and constructively.

In the role of investigative social worker, you will investigate the needs of children and young people aged 0-20 years and based on that, assign interventions and be responsible for the follow-up of outpatient interventions.

Common to both roles is that you will be an important part of contributing to new working methods related to this transition based on the new SoL that came into effect on July 1.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree in social work or equivalent competence and who wants to work with children and families in an organization where collaboration and shared responsibility are central. You are self-assured, structured, and able to prioritize even when the work is complex. You are attentive, unpretentious, and have a good demeanor when interacting with both children, families, and partners.

Experience in exercising authority within child welfare is an advantage. Knowledge of BBIC, Signs of Safety, honor-related issues, and children's exposure to violence is also advantageous. You express yourself well in both spoken and written language. A valid driver's license is required. Personal suitability is of great importance.

Other

If you are selected for employment, the employer will request an extract from the criminal record. The municipal council has decided that all new hires must present a criminal record extract before employment. The extract to be presented is the one for work within schools or preschools.

To ensure the quality of the recruitment process in Uppvidinge Municipality and facilitate good communication with our applicants, we ask you to submit your application digitally and not via email or paper format.

In preparation for the recruitment work, Uppvidinge Municipality has made decisions regarding recruitment channels and marketing. Therefore, we kindly ask to refrain from contacting media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
