Your workplace

Habilitation, vision, and assistive devices is a regional service that offers cross-professional and specialized interventions and assistive devices for children, adolescents, and adults with long-term disabilities.

In adult habilitation, in addition to psychologists, there are social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. Discussions about common professional and habilitation-related issues are constantly ongoing within and across professional boundaries. We place great emphasis on keeping ourselves updated on current research in the field of habilitation and, as far as possible, basing our work on evidence-based methods.

The target groups of adult habilitation are individuals with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, and acquired brain injuries. Our patients have one or more of these difficulties. The goal of all interventions in our service is to optimize the opportunity for individuals with a permanent disability to live as independently as possible based on their own conditions.

With us, you will have driven and engaged colleagues. We have a systematic work environment effort and place a lot of focus on the introduction and mentorship of new employees. We also conduct structured development work focusing on evidence-based interventions both individually and in groups, as well as an expanded range of e-services.

As one of the region's health-promoting workplaces, we offer joint wellness activities and wellness hours. The psychology group has access to case supervision, and there are good opportunities for further education. One of us holds a specialist position and continuously works to develop and maintain a psychological perspective throughout the organization.

Your tasks

The psychologist's tasks in adult habilitation include individual treatment interventions and group therapy, assessments of cognitive functioning, and consultative support to staff groups. Our work targets all patients in the service.

You will quickly gain insight into the breadth of the neuropsychiatric field and see the value of pragmatic interventions as a complement to traditional treatment work. To meet the needs of our other target groups, the work also involves providing consultative support to staff groups. We use evidence-based methods such as TBA and PBS with close collaboration with other professionals in the team.

Another important task for the psychologist is to read, assess, and process incoming referrals. Psychologists participate in the development work of the service and continuously work with psychologist-specific development issues. Current areas include the development of e-services and broadening the range of group activities for both patients and relatives.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for a licensed psychologist. As a person, we see that you have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You are creative and often come up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues. We also see that you have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and that individuals have different conditions. Therefore, you also need to have the ability to adapt the way you convey messages to the recipient.

We consider experience in habilitation and/or habilitation target groups as meritorious but not a requirement.
