Licensed Senior Physician in General Psychiatry

We are looking for an additional licensed senior physician in general psychiatry for the Eating Disorders and Emotional Instability Clinic.

Your Workplace

The Eating Disorders and Emotional Instability Clinic is one of the subspecialized clinics that remains after the reorganization of adult psychiatry in Region Värmland. Due to an expanded mission and a larger target group, we are now recruiting another physician to the clinic.

Our main mission is to treat patients with eating disorders at a specialist level or provide treatment for patients with emotional instability at a specialist level. To ensure cohesive care, we also have responsibility for psychiatric comorbidity during the treatment period.

The outpatient psychiatric care is characterized by an environment where all staff do their best to provide good care and work towards continuous improvements. Good collaboration and development are always in focus. Employees receive ongoing method development, supervision, professional development, and introduction for new staff.

Your Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include assessing, treating, investigating, and following up adult patients aged 18 and over with eating disorder diagnoses and/or emotional instability. Contact with relatives and some supervision of staff are also part of the job.

You will participate in treatment conferences at the clinic as well as method development. You are expected to be actively involved and driving in the clinic's development work and have close collaboration with our partners along with the unit's employees.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for someone who is a licensed senior physician in general psychiatry. You need to be interested in and have an understanding of treatment in a therapeutic setting. Experience in eating disorder care and/or DBT knowledge is an advantage.

As travel may be included in the position, you need to have a valid driver's license (B).

As a person, you are outgoing and enjoy taking responsibility together with the rest of the team, focusing on high patient safety and quality of care. You easily adapt to different circumstances and see opportunities in change, as well as having good collaboration skills.

You are an initiative-taker, clear and structured, and have a good pedagogical approach. You are persistent and have the ability to maintain focus and quality even in challenging or changing situations.
