Your Workplace

Laromottagningen is one of the psychiatric outpatient care's sub-units. Our mission is to provide medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence (LARO). We are tasked with investigating and treating individuals in Värmland County who have more than one (1) year of documented opioid dependence.

Here, dedicated nurses, doctors, social workers, care coordinators, medical administrators, and unit managers work together in a team to create good care and a positive work environment. The clinic is located in suitable premises in the Psychiatry House at the Central Hospital in Karlstad.

Laromottagningen is a well-functioning unit with competent staff who are passionate about the mission.

We are in an interesting position within Region Värmland regarding addiction care, especially in light of the proposals made by the comorbidity investigation.

Your Responsibilities

We are now looking for two summer temporary nurses for Laromottagningen. If you are studying in the nursing program, we wish that you have completed semester 5 as our mission requires that you have progressed in your education. We work in teams, and as a summer temporary employee, you will receive support and assistance from each other when needed.

Your tasks will include administering medication, monitoring medication, taking samples, and conducting conversation interventions with patients. The role also includes contacts with care neighbors and social services.

You will be involved in the entire care process for patients, starting with sample collection and initiation of substitution medication. Patients will need to come daily at the beginning of treatment to receive their medication. An individual assessment will then be made regarding how often patients should come to the clinic.

Our work follows the guidelines of the National Board of Health and Welfare, and we operate based on the nationally developed care and intervention program for substance abuse and dependence.

Your Skills and Competencies

You should have a nursing education or be a nursing student who has completed semester 5. Experience in psychiatry and/or addiction issues is an advantage.

We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others and has an easy time building good relationships due to your empathetic ability. You are skilled at organizing your work efficiently, are self-driven, and can easily adapt to different situations. Your flexibility and ability to switch between tasks make you a valuable employee.
