Here you will have the chance to work with a dedicated team and contribute to creating a safe and secure care environment for our patients. We are now looking for two committed nurses for our ward 81 who want to be part of our important work.

Your Workplace

The mission of Forensic Psychiatry is to investigate, treat, and rehabilitate residents of Värmland who have committed a crime under the influence of a serious mental disorder and have been referred to forensic psychiatric care. Care is provided in both closed and open forms. The aim is to rehabilitate patients back into society.

Our operations are located in Kristinehamn and Karlstad. It consists of four wards with a total of 42 inpatient care places, as well as three training apartments in nearby houses in Kristinehamn.

Ward 80 is a forensic psychiatric inpatient ward with security class two. Here, patients who have been referred for care according to the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act (LRV) are treated, as well as individuals in need of care from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.

Ward 81 is a forensic psychiatric inpatient ward with security class three. The ward primarily works with rehabilitation and discharge of patients.

Ward 82 is a forensic psychiatric inpatient ward with security class three. The ward primarily works with rehabilitation and discharge of patients with significant care needs.

Ward 45 is a forensic psychiatric inpatient ward located at the psychiatry house in Karlstad.

Your Responsibilities

As a nurse, you play an important role in the team surrounding the individual patient. The role shifts between observation, assessment, and treatment-oriented tasks. You are expected to lead and distribute the daily care work, paying attention to and formulating the patient's needs in psychiatric care.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with good collaboration skills. You are professional in your approach and want to make a difference for our patients. We value your ability to make correct assessments and priorities. Attention to detail and a strong awareness of goals and quality standards are important traits. We are keen to find the right person for the position and will therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. You handle Swedish well in both spoken and written form. It is an advantage if you are a trained psychiatric nurse and/or have experience from previous work in psychiatry/forensic psychiatry as well as good documentation skills.
