The Kidney Unit
The Kidney Unit in Visby has a regional responsibility for kidney care within Region Gotland.
The Kidney Unit is a clinic that offers complete nephrological investigation and treatment, except for kidney transplants which are performed at the transplant center in Stockholm.
The Kidney Unit has a well-functioning kidney outpatient clinic and peritoneal dialysis clinic. The clinic receives about 730 visits per year, including follow-ups for 39 transplanted patients. The unit consists of hemodialysis with about 30 patients, a bag dialysis clinic with about eight patients, and a kidney outpatient clinic with about 360 registered patients. Our care team has access to a dietitian, physiotherapist, and social worker, which means we can offer comprehensive care.
Our operations are growing, and we are now looking for a dialysis nurse!
Your Responsibilities
As a dialysis nurse, you are responsible for preparing, starting, and concluding dialysis. You will follow the patient during treatment and document in the patient journal. The unit also has special areas of responsibility that we manage.
We offer you an interesting and developing job where you work in a team with experienced colleagues with the patient at the center. As the responsible nurse for patients, you will collaborate closely with doctors, nursing assistants, and other caregivers relevant to the patient.
If you have not worked with dialysis before, you will receive individual training from one or two experienced dialysis colleagues over eight weeks based on a fixed training plan.
The Kidney Unit applies a 10-week schedule. The unit is open Monday to Saturday, so work on Saturdays and evenings is included in your job.
Who Are You?
We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with dialysis experience and a few years of experience in healthcare.
You have a strong commitment to your profession. We see that you have a good ability to work independently with a sense of responsibility. You should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. We place great value on good collaboration skills, creativity, flexibility, and holistic thinking. You should enjoy working in a smaller team and be interested in development and technical equipment.
Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
