Child Health Care Nurse to Gotland

In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Child Health Care

Gotland's child health care is characterized by the advantages of a small organization with close collaboration.

Here, you work with dedicated child health care nurses in a team spirit together with doctors, psychologists, and social workers.

One of our child health nurses will be on leave during 2026, so we are now looking for a new employee for a full-time temporary position in our operations in Visby. If necessary, work can also be assigned to BVC Hemse or Slite. The temporary position is primarily until 2026-12-31 but may be extended.

Currently, eleven child health care nurses work in Gotland, distributed in Visby, Slite, and Hemse. The profession works to support parents in active and shared parenting, discover and prevent physical and mental health issues in young children and their parents, and to identify and prevent risks for young children in their local environment and in society.

If you are a licensed nurse with further education as a pediatric nurse or district nurse and want to work in a cutting-edge primary care setting, you have come to the right place!

Your Responsibilities

The tasks at BVC consist of running your own clinic with standard child health care checks according to the Child Health Care assignment 2020 and the National Handbook for Child Health Care. You are responsible for calling families to the medical appointments you have together with doctors from the child and youth clinic, making home visits to newborns and eight-month-old children. You will also lead parenting support in groups. As a nurse at BVC, you also have contact with many other services such as the midwifery clinic, maternity ward, social services, preschools, and child habilitation.

In your role, you will be responsible for approximately 50 newborns per year if you work full-time. We work with support measures such as Child Safety, conversations with Non-Birthing Parents (IFF), EPDS, Infant Toddler Checklist (ITC), and Lifestyle Questions.

To ensure that you as child health nurses feel secure and develop your competencies in your work role, regular training days are organized for all employees at BVC Gotland, and we hold workplace meetings, professional hours, and weekly meetings, both physically and digitally.

Who Are You?

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with further education as a district nurse or pediatric nurse. The position requires a B driver's license and knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to C1.

We are looking for a colleague who is flexible, solution-oriented, has experience working independently but also enjoys working in a team and feels engaged in their work. We see previous work experience in child health care and training in Motivational Interviewing as an advantage.

Selection for interviews will be ongoing.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
