Care Assistant at Stuxgården
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.
Stuxgården
There are special accommodations for the elderly in six locations on Gotland.
We who work here have the mission to assist the elderly around the clock with various services. The operations follow the palliative care philosophy. With the user at the center, we work with individual implementation plans, where the work is planned and executed based on our values: trust, care, and participation.
Stuxgården is a residence with 36 places, of which 24 are for people with dementia and 12 are special accommodation places. The residence is beautifully located in Fårösund with a view over the strait to Fårö, with suitable facilities and a lovely garden.
We are now looking for a new employee to join us at Stuxgården.
The position is a flexible night shift for a care assistant, where Stuxgården is your primary workplace. However, the assignment includes working flexibly at night based on the needs of the operations, which means that you may also serve at Kilåkern and Tingsbrogården.
Your Responsibilities
As a care assistant in this flexible night shift, you will, among other things:
- Work night shifts flexibly based on the needs of the operations at Stuxgården and, if necessary, also at Kilåkern and Tingsbrogården.
- Work together with colleagues to motivate and stimulate the elderly.
- Perform usual care and service tasks such as personal care, medication administration, delegated HSL services, household chores, and activities based on individual needs.
- Work based on Individual Needs in Center (IBIC) as a working method.
- Contribute to creating safety and a meaningful everyday life for the residents, considering individual conditions, needs, and wishes.
- Have case management responsibility.
- Work with and follow up on implementation plans.
- Document according to current routines in the operations' systems.
- Have contact with relatives.
- Perform certain administration related to the assignment.
Who are you?
As a care assistant, you are trained in care and preferably have previous experience from elderly care or other care and support services. To be employed, you must have the right to use the protected professional title according to current regulations.
It is an advantage if you have experience working with individuals with cognitive or medical disabilities, BPSD (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms in Dementia), and palliative care. A valid driver's license (B) is required.
As a person, you are secure in both yourself and your professional role. You have a calm demeanor and a willingness to help others and find solutions according to the operations' goals and guidelines. To thrive in the role, you need to be flexible and proactive, as well as work in a structured, self-driven manner with good collaboration skills both independently and in a team.
You are service-oriented and have the ability to adapt your approach to different individuals' needs and situations. With a holistic view, you see daily challenges and changes as exciting and developmental.
In accordance with the new language requirement, you need to have a good command of Swedish in both speech and writing to ensure safe care and proper documentation.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
As part of the recruitment process, a valid extract from the police criminal record, known as a self-report check, must be presented. Please remember to order the extract in good time, as processing usually takes 1–2 weeks.
