Psychiatric Outpatient Care

The psychiatry consists of inpatient care, addiction care, and outpatient care for both children and adults.

There is a psychiatric emergency clinic available 24/7.

The adult psychiatric outpatient care is located in Visby and has the entire island as its catchment area. The catchment area is relatively small in terms of both area and population, but the island location means that the service must be able to offer a breadth of both competence and services.

We have a comprehensive development project underway that includes adaptation and implementation of nationally developed care pathways, national care and intervention programs, and regional process maps.

At our outpatient clinic, about 40 employees work in various professions, including doctors and nurses. The outpatient treatment team consists of psychologists, psychotherapists, CBT therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation coordinators, and social workers. We currently have two physiotherapists, but one of them will retire in the spring after long and loyal service. Therefore, we are looking for a physiotherapist who is eager to work in adult psychiatry. It is easy to thrive with us!

Your Responsibilities

As a physiotherapist, you will work clinically with adult psychiatric patients primarily at our outpatient clinic, but sometimes also on the inpatient ward. You will make assessments and provide treatment with the body as a starting point and play an important role in promoting recovery, balance, and quality of life for our patients. This is achieved through increased body awareness and understanding of physical-psychological connections, as well as an increased ability to regulate tension and presence. Our treatment methods include basic body awareness, relaxation exercises, and physical training.

With your specific professional competence, you will collaborate with an experienced colleague, other practitioners, and teams across professional boundaries.

Who Are You?

You who are applying need to be a licensed physiotherapist.

We would like you to have experience working in psychiatry. You should be genuinely interested in working with patients with complex psychiatric conditions and often comorbidity in various ways. We expect you to be interested in and motivated to develop the work based on existing knowledge support and proven experience. Training in Basic Body Awareness or other body-based therapy is an advantage, as is having equivalent Level 1 in psychotherapy.

The work requires you to have a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing and to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks. You need to be easy to collaborate with but also able to work independently, including making assessments and formulating treatment plans. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
