VI – Where screws, rods, and plaster are everyday!

The Orthopedic Clinic is located in two places in the region; Karlshamn and Karlskrona.

In Karlskrona, we take care of acute orthopedic injuries in Trauma Department 37. Patients come here around the clock all year round. We care for everything from trauma alarms with multiple injuries to elderly patients who have fallen. The age range is broad, from 18 years and up. Many of the patients who come need surgery, so the focus is heavily on pre- and post-operative care.

We are a clinic in development. Our desire is to have enough care places to provide good and safe care. To fulfill this, a good working environment is needed with a manageable number of patients per nurse/care assistant, a good atmosphere, and to have fun!

The department is characterized by a good working environment in a positive spirit with a focus on the patient's best interests. On Department 37, we care for each other and are attentive to team spirit. The department continuously works on change and development where you have the opportunity to participate. We actively work with students from nursing programs, care assistant programs, and internships from high school and middle school.

About the job

As a care assistant, you actively participate in all care around the patient - both general and specific. On the department, we work closely together in teams. The teams consist of department doctors, nurses, care assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and secretaries. There is a coordinator function during the day, Monday to Friday, that helps coordinate patients both within and outside the department. We work according to the concept of patient-centered care and work in care teams. This means that you, together with a nurse, are responsible for the patients in your care team.

On Department 37, rotation shifts are applied.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A trained care assistant.
  • Experience in a care department and orthopedic knowledge is an advantage.

To thrive with us, it is important that you have an empathetic approach and appreciate collaboration. You also have the ability to prioritize tasks and can remain calm in situations that require it.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a crisis situation. Ongoing selection may be applied.
