Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist at the Swedish Public Employment Service

Unit's Mission

We are approximately 180 employees in the region across four locations: Ljungby, Växjö, Karlshamn, and Karlskrona. Our main mission is to prepare, match, and support job seekers on their way to work and/or studies, as well as assist employers in finding workforce and thereby contribute to the skills supply in the region. We are now looking for you, a licensed occupational therapist/physiotherapist, to work at the Swedish Public Employment Service. The placement for this position is Karlshamn or Karlskrona.

Job Description

The occupational therapist's/physiotherapist's interventions at the Swedish Public Employment Service are primarily carried out within the framework of the assignment for work-oriented rehabilitation, which means utilizing and developing the job seeker's resources and competencies. The purpose is to facilitate the job seeker in finding, obtaining, retaining, or returning to employment. It is important to emphasize that this does not involve therapeutic rehabilitation.

The work focuses on adaptations around work/study placements based on the results of the labor market policy assessment, where you as an occupational therapist/physiotherapist actively participate in the assessment work. It involves assessing the need for support, the right to support, and being able to prioritize interventions aimed at employment.

In all contacts with applicants, you maintain a supportive and guiding approach. You contribute to developing the job seeker's knowledge of their conditions and strengthening motivation and orientation towards work. This primarily occurs through conversations where assessments of work ability, adaptation of work situations, and testing of work aids are made. The role also involves collaboration with other agencies such as municipalities and regions. Documentation constitutes a significant and large part of the tasks, and you need to navigate many different systems. You must be able to work independently but also possess good collaboration skills.

The agency collaborates extensively with independent actors where the occupational therapist/physiotherapist also plays an important role. The Swedish Public Employment Service is undergoing a digital transformation that permeates all aspects of our work, which is why you have both the willingness and ability to utilize digital tools.

Our Offer

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a six-month probationary period. The placement is Karlshamn or Karlskrona.

Basic Requirements

  • License from the National Board of Health and Welfare as an occupational therapist or physiotherapist
  • At least two years of work experience as an occupational therapist/physiotherapist
  • Driver's license (B)

Other Qualifications

  • Experience in activity-based assessment in evaluating work ability
  • Experience working as an occupational therapist/physiotherapist at the Swedish Public Employment Service
  • Experience in other roles within the Swedish Public Employment Service
