Thoraxcentrum has a broad and varied work content and conducts both acute and planned operations.

The clinic's mission is to provide the residents of Blekinge, Kronoberg, and to some extent Skåne with access to highly specialized cardiology, which includes cardiac and lung surgery, highly specialized and specialized care in the areas of invasive electrophysiology, pacemaker, ICD/CRT, invasive cardiology/PCI, and TAVI.

At Thoraxcentrum, approximately 250 employees work in wards, outpatient care, surgical operations, intensive care unit (THIVA), and radiology. We can offer individual opportunities for skill enhancement and development, the possibility of conducting research, and advancement within the clinic.

The clinic has an instructional nurse responsible for continuing education and skill development for all staff categories.

About the Job

At THIVA, intensive care is provided around the clock, and we care for patients who have undergone acute and planned cardiac or lung surgical operations. We also care for patients who need optimization before heart surgery or require circulatory support with, for example, an aortic balloon pump and ECMO. Postoperative monitoring after minor surgeries such as wire excisions or vacc fungus treatments also occurs regularly. We have also developed a close collaboration with the general intensive care unit. The great variety in intensive care work with our patients makes THIVA a stimulating and developing workplace.

As an intensive care nurse at THIVA, you work in a team together with nursing assistants, anesthesiologists, and surgeons. You have colleagues with high competence after many years of experience in thoracic intensive care. When you start your position with us, you will receive individualized introduction with experienced mentors. If you wish, you can also be offered the opportunity for rotation service, for example, in another unit within thorax center, as part of your individual skill development.

About You

We are looking for someone with a Swedish nursing license and a specialist nursing degree in intensive care. If you have experience in thoracic care or thoracic intensive care, it is an advantage. In your profession as an intensive care nurse, you feel a genuine commitment to the patient and the workplace you belong to, and you have the desire to develop and be involved in development. You share our view that qualities such as responsiveness and good collaboration skills are of utmost importance, not least for the teamwork around the patient to function. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability when filling the position with us.
