Do you want to influence and develop the future of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, BUP, in Region Blekinge? Region Blekinge is now making significant investments in the mental health of children and young people.

We have initiated a development project to change our working methods, leading us towards the implementation of gradual care and clear care processes. We have established a joint contact center (one-way-in) together with primary care (the first line for children and young people's mental health issues). The unit is organizationally part of primary care.

At BUP in Blekinge, about 90 employees work with great commitment and broad expertise in specialist psychiatry. The outpatient clinic and intermediate care have moved together into new, fresh premises in the center. This will mean enhanced outpatient care that develops common working methods and strengthens teamwork.

The Job

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Blekinge is a multidisciplinary specialist operation. Our mission is to assess, investigate, and treat psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents under 18 years old and provide support to their families. The operation consists of outpatient clinics and intermediate care services in both Karlshamn and Karlskrona, as well as a county-wide inpatient department in Karlskrona.

At the clinic, there is a medical team with six senior physicians with high competence and long experience, as well as several ST and BT doctors.

As a doctor at BUP in Blekinge, you will work in outpatient care with some daytime duties within the inpatient care in Karlskrona. We are looking for 1 specialist/senior physician for outpatient care who will work alternating periods with other specialists within inpatient care. As a physician in outpatient care, you primarily work in the clinic where you are part of interdisciplinary teams regarding assessments/investigations and treatments. There are also outpatient nurses with whom you collaborate on medication follow-ups. There is an intermediate care-enhanced outpatient service that can be activated when needed (with interventions such as day care for eating disorder patients, group treatments including DBT), and we have a close and good collaboration between outpatient, intermediate, and inpatient care.

As a physician in the inpatient department in Karlskrona, you will work in an inpatient unit with 3 beds. Here, nurses and caregivers work closely together, and there is close collaboration with intermediate care to shorten hospital stays and other clinics. Treatment conferences also include the responsible physician from outpatient care, so that we can jointly work towards achieving the shortest possible hospital stay with seamless transitions to outpatient care.

The medical group has regular meetings, both internally (BUP medical group) and together with adult psychiatry regarding collaboration issues and regular meetings with child and habilitation physicians for clinical discussions about common children.

Occasional duties during on-call hours may occur. There is a collaboration with the inpatient staff and adult psychiatry that means that we aim to conduct as many qualified child and adolescent psychiatric assessments as possible during daytime.

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a child and adolescent psychiatry with short decision-making paths and good opportunities to influence future development. We see education and supervision as prerequisites for providing specialized care of high quality and therefore have a generous attitude towards further education/research even for our specialists. Blekinge is a small region with about 160,000 inhabitants. We are now looking for a specialist/senior physician for outpatient care in Karlskrona. You will also participate in the clinic's operations and quality development and have access to internal and external training.

About You

You are a licensed physician with specialist competence in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. We are looking for someone with an interest in further developing a modern psychiatry. You should have the ability to meet patients and relatives in difficult situations. You have a professional approach, are flexible, and have good collaboration skills with other colleagues. You find it easy to create contacts and communicate with patients, families, colleagues, and care neighbors.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a crisis situation. Some of our positions are security-classified, where the employee must undergo a security screening interview and background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
