About Us

The Surgical Clinic operates a comprehensive business in surgery, urology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, and oncology.

We have two inpatient departments in Karlskrona and three outpatient clinics, one of which is in Karlshamn. We also operate in radiology and the emergency department in Karlskrona as well as in the operating rooms in Karlskrona and Karlshamn. Together, we are over 200 employees.

On surgical ward 48, we care for patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder. The department employs doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and kitchen staff. We also have a close collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.

The Job

On surgical ward 48, we sometimes work at a fast pace and make quick decisions. We handle both young and older patients, those with rapid care processes and those with longer ones. To assist us with patient care, we have both a coordinator and a discharge nurse.

With us, you will have the opportunity to participate in a varied, developing, and very educational job. You will become part of a wonderful team where we help each other and have good cohesion. We work with the patient's best interests in focus and have a high level of employee engagement in the department's development work.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, nights, and weekends, and we use individual scheduling.

In our department, there is also the opportunity to study to become a specialist nurse in surgical care. Currently, we have two specialist nurses who have advanced knowledge in clinical, patient-centered work and in development and improvement efforts. They are responsible for leading education and supporting healthcare staff with their expertise.

We also have a nurse who works with mentorship in the department through reflection sessions, being there to answer questions, and creating security for those who are new to the job.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse. If you have experience working in a surgical ward or have a specialist education in one of our areas, we consider it an advantage but not a requirement. It is of great importance to us that you have an empathetic approach and a good attitude based on good ethics, as patients, together with their relatives, have the right to participate and be informed in decisions regarding their own care.

Furthermore, you appreciate good collaboration among colleagues and have the ability to prioritize between tasks and remain calm in situations that require it.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
