Are you a driven and committed physician looking for a leadership role in emergency care? We are now developing our function and seeking a Chief Physician based at our emergency department at Blekingesjukhuset in Karlskrona.

At the emergency clinic, we are a wonderful team with great drive! The clinic consists of healthcare administration in Karlskrona and Karlshamn, an emergency ward in Karlshamn, ambulance services in both locations, and the emergency department in Karlskrona. The Job

As a specialist physician and chief physician in the emergency department, you will work clinically with patients and provide support and guidance to other staff groups and functions. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring quality and patient safety within emergency care. Our operations also include an emergency ward in Karlshamn and ambulance services in Blekinge. You will contribute your deep knowledge and strong desire to continuously improve for every visitor and employee at the emergency department. We now have the task of developing pre-hospital medical support in various ways to further optimize patient flow and patient safety.

You will be responsible for clinical leadership and management of the acute patient flow. You will work closely with other healthcare staff to make quick and effective decisions in emergency situations. You will have a significant influence on the development of routines and workflows in the department.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Leading the medical work in the emergency department.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues, both nurses and doctors.
• Contributing medical assessments and decisions for patients in emergency care.
• Participating in and driving quality and improvement work in the department.
• Contributing to a safe and secure working environment for all employees.
• Further developing a model with emergency physicians in Region Blekinge.

About You

We will expand our mission with pre-hospital support. We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in emergency care and have experience leading others in healthcare. You may also be a resident physician nearing the end of your training and see your future with us once you are finished; we would love to have a dialogue with you already now!

Experience in leadership and/or development projects is an advantage. It is also advantageous to have a good knowledge of the existing organization and working methods, good knowledge of patient safety work, and insight into the development of emergency care at the national and regional level.

To succeed in this role, you need to have a very good ability to make quick and well-founded decisions. Good leadership skills and the ability to create security in stressful situations. Flexibility regarding working methods and a desire to develop and improve the work in the emergency department within existing management systems. You have good communication skills and a positive attitude towards collaboration. Personal suitability is highly valued.
