Nurse at the Rehabilitation Clinic - Ward 20

REGION BLEKINGE

to apply for the job

About Us

The Rehabilitation Clinic is part of Specialized Care and operates at both sites of Blekingesjukhuset.

The clinic organizes Blekingesjukhuset's rehabilitation within inpatient and outpatient care with specialist, pain, and cancer rehabilitation. We employ 240 staff across various professions to provide the residents of the region access to specialized rehabilitation in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Ward 20 is a care ward with 12 beds, divided into two teams, belonging to the Rehabilitation Clinic. We also collaborate with the Medicine Clinic for some beds for medical patients.

Ward 20 is a rehabilitation ward where adult patients are cared for with various diagnoses in the rehabilitation phase. This means that as a nurse, you will follow the patient throughout the entire rehabilitation process. In the ward, you will meet patients who, after a stroke, neurological disease, traumatic or anoxic brain injury, postoperative care, orthopedics, spinal cord injury, or other conditions, need intensive rehabilitation within specialized care.

In Karlshamn, there is a specialist team for spinal cord injuries linked to the ward, which means that these patients come to the ward's rehabilitation team at an early stage. Patients with strokes, traumatic, or anoxic brain injuries also arrive early at the ward for care and rehabilitation.

From Monday to Friday, we have a coordinator in the ward who takes incoming calls during the day, is responsible for pulse rounds, holds SIP meetings, and supports the nurses with various administrative tasks to free up patient time.

About the Job

The tasks in the ward are very varied. You will meet patients in the rehabilitation phase as well as patients in more acute situations. Daily, nurses collaborate with several other professions (e.g., physiotherapist, occupational therapist, social worker, speech therapist). We work person-centered in interdisciplinary teams and prioritize high participation for the patient. A rehabilitation plan is established together with the patient and followed up regularly. The goal of rehabilitation is for the person to become as active and independent as possible, where we together coach the patient and offer training and treatment interventions.

Our tasks also include a significant amount of medical technical procedures, where we meet patients with PEG, intravenous access, and tracheostomy.

As a nurse, you will face new challenges all the time, which helps you develop in your professional role. Ward 20 is a safe ward to work in; we can consult colleagues about “just about anything.” We care for each other and want new staff to feel welcome and be part of the team. With us, you will have opportunities to grow!

As a nurse in Ward 20, we offer you:

  • The opportunity to gain broad competence
  • Interprofessional teams with the patient in focus
  • A varied and developing job
  • To become part of a wonderful team of colleagues
  • Individually tailored introduction
  • Opportunities for further education and personal development.
  • Wellness benefits and free access to our gyms in Karlshamn and Karlskrona

About You

We are looking for someone with a Swedish nursing license. Experience in the profession is valuable to us, but newly graduated nurses are also warmly welcome.

As a person, it is important that you are attentive, open, and communicative. You put the patient at the center and have a good attitude. You have a genuine interest in rehabilitation and in driving and motivating patients in their training.

You see and take initiative and are solution-focused. You have good collaboration skills and actively contribute to a good working environment. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where change is part of everyday life. We would like you to have good computer skills. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and collaboration skills.

Some of our positions are security classified, where the employee must undergo a security screening interview and background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). Applicants who are considered for employment must present an extract from the Police Authority's criminal record before employment (form 442.9).

We will apply ongoing selection in this recruitment, so please submit your application today!
