About Us

The Mammography Clinic provides the residents of Blekinge with access to high-quality breast diagnostics in Karlskrona and Karlshamn. The department has 13 employees of various categories such as radiologists, radiographers, and general nurses, as well as a medical secretary. The department performs approximately 25,000 examinations each year; health checks and clinical investigations.

The mammography department is part of the Radiology Clinic and operates throughout Blekinge. The clinical operations, where you will be working, are located in Karlskrona, but health checks are also performed in Karlshamn. About the Job

We are now looking for a breast radiologist for our department in Karlskrona. The tasks at the Mammography Clinic include breast cancer screening with double review by two breast radiologists and clinical investigations, which make up the majority of your position. As a senior physician at the mammography clinic, you will be responsible for independently investigating clinical patients using techniques such as tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and various types of biopsies, including stereotactic and tomosynthesis-guided vacuum biopsies. You will also perform preoperative indications of tumors, lead or participate in multidisciplinary conferences, and supervise residents. We are also pleased that we can now perform breast MRI in Region Blekinge and therefore value MRI competence in applicants.

You will have a lot of contact with patients and collaborate with other staff in the breast process. Your closest colleagues will consist of breast radiologists, radiographers/registered nurses, and administrative secretaries. Since you work closely with your colleagues, it is important for us that you have good collaboration skills.

We work in a shared RIS/PACS from Sectra.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a specialist in medical radiology with good knowledge in breast radiology; knowledge of MRI is an advantage. We expect you to have good collaboration skills, be meticulous, and possess sound clinical judgment. You see it as natural to take responsibility for the education of future colleagues. You have the ability to work independently but also enjoy collaborating in a smaller team. We have high demands on your willingness and motivation to perform your work in a high-quality and efficient manner and are looking for someone who can help maintain our good quality and contribute to the development of our operations. We place great importance on personal suitability.

There are good opportunities for future development and to take on a leadership position in the mammography department. We would like you to be interested in eventually taking on a role as a medical management responsible and medical advisor to the operations and department manager in breast radiological matters and issues.
