Main Responsibilities
As a ship's nurse at the Third Naval Combat Flotilla, you will hold the highest medical competence on board. This means you will be responsible for taking care of the sick and injured and conducting triage in the event of larger illness/injury incidents on your own ship or at a unit your ship has been ordered to support. You will participate in work at the scene of an accident as well as be able to accompany patients during medical evacuations. As a nurse on a ship, you also have the task of working preventively, early on curbing outbreaks of illness and alleviating and managing minor ailments directly on board. This allows the ship to maintain a high personnel combat value, which positively contributes to the resolution of combat tasks. Your work includes educating and developing the medical skills of other crew members. You are expected to participate in other ship services, and a strong focus will be on integrating you as a crew member.
Qualifications
- Licensed nurse with a specialization in emergency care, ambulance care, and/or anesthesia care
- At least two years of professional experience within your specialization
- Current experience in pre-hospital emergency care
- Swimming 400 m and lifeguarding
- Fully healthy and meets the Swedish Armed Forces' physical basic requirements
- Driver's license at least B

You are structured and flexible and have a high self-motivation. You are prepared to step in where needed, whether it is a medical task or not. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Desirable Qualifications
- Military basic training equivalent to conscription, GSU/GMU, or other Swedish military training
- Experience serving at sea
- Previous military service abroad in a clinical position
- Civilian or military courses in emergency care
- Training or experience in educating others
Other Information
We are looking for someone who believes in the equal value of all people, has democratic values, and is prepared to serve both nationally and internationally. As a part-time employee in the Swedish Armed Forces, you will retain your civilian employer as your primary employer but will serve with us intermittently. This may be for shorter periods but also for longer durations. Spread over a longer time, it can amount to about 1-2 months per year. When you serve, it is to conduct exercises, attend various forms of training, or carry out national/international missions. At the beginning of your employment, you will receive a plan for how you will work in the coming year so that you can inform your employer. Upon employment, an introductory training will be conducted. The length and content of the training will be adapted according to previous military knowledge and experience. If you have no previous military background, you will undergo basic soldier training (GSU). Your place of residence does not limit your ability to serve.

Permanent employment with intermittent service according to the Officers Ordinance 20§. A six-month probationary period applies.

Selection
We will call for selection tests at the 3rd Naval Combat Flotilla, Karlskrona during weeks 22-24, 2026. These take a full day (personal interview and fitness tests). Note! The swimming test of 400 m and lifeguarding will be conducted independently in a swimming pool at your home location, after which a certificate must be brought to the selection test. A test will also be conducted at the National Service and Assessment Agency regardless of whether you have a military background or not.
