About Us

At the Children's and Youth Clinic, we provide care within pediatric and adolescent medical specialties.

We operate around the clock for children/youth aged 0-18 who require the hospital's specialized care. We have specialist clinics in Karlshamn and Karlskrona. Inpatient care is conducted in Karlskrona at the children's and youth department and the neonatal department. Day care is available on the children's and youth floor. The neonatal department has a neo-clinic and also provides home care. The clinic also has a social worker, play therapy, and a hospital school.

We have a well-established quality philosophy, and NOBAB and the Convention on the Rights of the Child guide us as we further develop person/family-centered care. We strive to create a good working environment and opportunities for development in an organization built on knowledge.

About the Job

Region Blekinge invests in educational positions with academic specialist training for nurses to further enhance competence in prioritized areas for better care of our patients.

You will be employed in a permanent full-time position as a nurse. The educational position lasts for one year with full-time studies, and you will receive a monthly salary as a nurse during your studies. You are entitled to contractual vacation and salary according to the applicable collective agreement.

Employment as a specialist nurse occurs after the completion and approval of training, effective from the date the educational institution issues the diploma. After completing the training, you will be placed in a position as a pediatric nurse within the Children's and Youth Clinic.

Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a crisis placement. Some of our positions are security classified, where the employee must undergo a security clearance interview and background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse who is accepted into the specialist nursing program with a focus on pediatric nursing starting in the autumn semester of 2026. Please note that you must apply for the education yourself. Nurses accepted into the program in the local area are prioritized for this position. It is advantageous if you have several years of clinical experience as a nurse in a children's ward, neonatal department, or pediatric outpatient clinic.

You have a drive to work with development and improvements and see it as a challenge to undertake your specialist training closely linked to the operations you will be working in. As a person, you have the ability to see the whole picture, want to work cross-professionally, and have good collaboration skills.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Applicants who are being considered for employment must present an extract from the Police Authority's criminal record before employment.
