About Us

Thoraxcentrum has a broad and varied work content and conducts both acute and planned activities.

Round-the-clock operations are available for coronary angiography/PCI treatment as well as for thoracic surgery. We are a professional knowledge organization characterized by high quality of care, a willingness to develop, responsibility, and participation. The clinic's mission is to provide the residents of Blekinge, Kronoberg, and to some extent Skåne with access to highly specialized cardiology, which includes heart and lung surgery, highly specialized and specialized care in the areas of invasive electrophysiology, pacemaker, ICD/CRT, invasive cardiology/PCI, and TAVI. The catchment area for the highly specialized care corresponds to approximately 330,000 inhabitants.

The approximately 250 employees at the clinic are distributed across wards, outpatient services, surgical operations, intensive care unit, and radiology department. The goal is to create individual opportunities for skill enhancement and development, as well as the opportunity to conduct research and advancement within the clinic. The clinic has an instructional nurse who contributes to further education and development for all staff categories. The cardiology operations with HIA/aftercare are conducted in Karlskrona in close collaboration with coronary angiography/PCI interventionists, thoracic surgeons, and thoracic anesthesiologists with short decision-making paths in a stimulating multidisciplinary environment.

The main mission is to provide highly specialized cardiac care to the residents of Blekinge and Kronoberg.

At Angio, PCI lab/Thorax radiology, both acute and planned procedures are performed. In addition to coronary angiography and PCI, TAVI implantations, ablations, and electrophysiological investigations are performed. The work is mainly carried out during daytime (Monday to Friday) and in addition, there is an on-call team available around the clock for acute situations.

The work is conducted in teams and involves several job categories employed and/or connected to Thorax radiology. Interventionists, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, electrophysiologists, ICU, and anesthesia nurses work at Thorax radiology but have tasks throughout the clinic. The staffing employed at thorax radiology consists of radiology nurses and licensed nurses. The assignment of Thorax radiology also includes the admission of patients in connection with planned examinations (currently the first patient on the program).

The Job

We are looking for someone who wants to gain increased competence in cardiological nursing. Thorax radiology is a unique department with two modern intervention labs where angiography, PCI, ablation, TAVI, and CSP are performed.

The work consists of both investigative examinations in connection with coronary artery disease and acute management in connection with heart attacks and other serious cardiological conditions. The tasks are challenging, both in terms of nursing, pharmacology, and technology. We work daytime with on-call duties with a 30-minute response time for acute patient examinations.

As a nurse with us, you will assist sterilely during advanced examinations and hold the role of patient responsible nurse in the lab. When you start with us, you will receive individual training with experienced colleagues as support and continuous professional development.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed general nurse. It is an advantage if you have worked in acute cardiac care and/or at a PCI lab. We are also looking for you who are a licensed radiology nurse.

You can plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You enjoy new challenges and thrive in both planned and acute operations. You work towards the goals of the organization, take responsibility, and have good collaboration skills. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

A driver's license is a requirement considering the on-call duties, which are part of the position.
