About us

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a multidisciplinary specialist service that includes a family therapy, cognitive, psychodynamic, and neuropsychological understanding perspective.

Our task is to detect, investigate, and treat mental health issues in children and adolescents under 18 years and their families. We are here for children and adolescents with severe psychiatric problems who need inpatient care. The length of stay varies depending on the assignment, and we function as both an acute and a treatment ward.

We are now looking for summer substitutes who genuinely want to influence the mental health of children and adolescents and make their time in round-the-clock care as good as possible.

About the job

As a caregiver in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's round-the-clock care, you will be part of a team of 19 colleagues consisting of caregivers, nurses, coordinators, ward doctors, and ward managers. The team consists of both new and experienced staff. We have a close collaboration with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's outpatient and intermediate care and the competencies available there.

In our daily work, we place great importance on ensuring that the entire family's support needs are highlighted, so it is important that you can adapt your approach and attitude based on the situation and person.

We are looking for someone who finds it challenging to work partially with the unpredictable.

We offer a recently developed internal introductory training that prepares you for your employment. During the summer, we work every other weekend on a rotating schedule. There is an opportunity to work permanent night shifts during the summer.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a YH caregiver education of 80 credits in psychiatry or equivalent, alternatively trained as a nursing assistant in health and care. If you have experience working with children and young people with eating disorders, suicidality, or psychoses in inpatient care, we consider it an asset.

We want you to be flexible, have good collaboration skills, and be able to remain calm in stressful situations. You have a strong patient focus and see the opportunity to work together with patients and their families to find success in the treatment process.

For us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents with psychiatric issues and that you want to contribute to person-centered and safe care.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a crisis position. Some of our positions are security classified, where the employee must undergo a security screening interview and background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
