JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to be an operational support and work with accounting, financial documentation, and monthly closings? Then we have an exciting position for you at Welfare Gävle! We are now looking for a knowledgeable accountant who can contribute to making Gävle more efficient and qualitative.

As an accountant with us, you will be a close operational administrative support to Welfare Gävle's core activities. You will be part of a competent team consisting of accountants, economists, controllers, and fee administrators. You will collaborate with people in various contexts and functions. You will also work on streamlining and developing routines and processes.

Your main responsibilities will include managing ongoing accounting, invoice handling, closing work, and closing reconciliations. You will guide managers and staff in accounting issues within the sector and regularly participate in operational meetings, representing Welfare Gävle in various forums within the municipality. You will also work with internal controls and quality assurance of the accounting. The operation is in constant change and development, which means that tasks may change over time.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in accounting or another relevant education or work experience that we consider equivalent. You have several years of experience in qualified financial work, preferably within the public sector, and experience with the financial system Unit4 ERP is an advantage. Furthermore, you have a solid understanding of accounting principles and confidence in the closing process, as well as good knowledge of the Office suite.

To succeed in this role, you are meticulous and structured with the ability to see details without losing the overall perspective. You are unpretentious in your collaboration with others and have the ability to find alternative solutions to arising problems. Furthermore, we would like you to be efficient and responsible with a focus on achieving the organization's goals, you are flexible and able to handle varying workloads. You communicate clearly and pedagogically and enjoy working both independently and together with others.
