JOB DESCRIPTION

We can offer you a creative and meaningful job in our preschools, after-school programs, primary schools, adapted primary schools, and evening/weekend/night care in Kalmar Municipality.

The main task as a substitute is to create conditions for a school/preschool/care that allows students and children to develop and learn in a creative and safe environment during the absence of our regular staff. We are looking for substitutes who are engaged, responsible, and have good collaborative skills, who can independently conduct teaching and activities during the absence of our regular staff.

The recruitment means that we have agreed in advance on the terms for upcoming employment and that you are available as a bookable substitute in our system. Employment occurs on the days you agree to work, and at that time, the principal of the relevant school will be your supervisor.

This job is suitable for you who want to try working in a school for a limited time. You may have ongoing studies in pedagogy or be a newly retired person with some spare time?

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for staff with a pedagogical education or ongoing pedagogical training, alternatively, you have previous experience working with children and youth. You are a good role model and can meet children and students at their level. Your responsibility is to provide good care and ensure the safety of children and students in everyday work.

Swedish is the common working language in our activities, and you need to have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. All staff must have sufficient language skills for children and students to be stimulated in their language development in Swedish. You have passed high school grades in Swedish, English, and mathematics. You have completed or ongoing studies in pedagogy, alternatively documented experience working with children and youth.

You have a flexible approach to working hours as the job means you can be booked at short notice, you enter your availability yourself, and we book you via SMS requests. Kalmar Municipality has preschools and primary schools throughout the municipality, and you need to be able to transport yourself within the entire municipality.

We expect you to have basic digital competence and access to a smartphone. This is necessary to manage your employment and for your administration in the booking system.

If you proceed in the recruitment process, we will ask you to submit three references. The references should be from individuals who have encountered you in professional life/practice from activities within schools, childcare, youth leadership, and your most recent employment.

As the job involves work within preschool/school, you will need to present a current (not older than one month) extract from the police's criminal record during the interview.

OTHER

Kalmar Municipality checks identity and work permits before anyone is hired. This means that you applying for a job with us need to show identification. If applicable, you may also need to present your residence and work permit.

As a permanent employee in Kalmar Municipality, you will be assigned to your workplace and are expected to contribute with your work in times of heightened preparedness.

Some positions within Kalmar Municipality are classified in a security class, which means that a security review according to the Security Protection Act may be conducted before a hiring decision.
