JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a career and guidance counselor for the municipality's secondary school organization. Your work will also include working comprehensively within the municipality. Your work will be based at Färjestadens Secondary School.

In your role, you are expected to drive the process of creating a cohesive thread for career and guidance activities so that students in Mörbylånga Municipality can achieve knowledge goals, become motivated for the future, and make their own well-founded choices of study and career paths.

As a career and guidance counselor with us in Mörbylånga Municipality:

• you work to provide students with increased knowledge and understanding of themselves, their opportunities, and their choices. This occurs through individual guidance conversations, group activities, and information sessions for students, educators, and guardians.
• you are responsible for the administration of high school choices and the coordination and organization of internships and other activities related to work life knowledge.
• you actively work with the coordination of work life issues for the municipality's students.
• you are an important person in the work with the municipality's prioritized goals regarding favorable upbringing conditions and the school's contact with the business community and other municipal activities in work life issues.
• you work in collaboration with internal and external actors. The work requires close cooperation with e.g. teachers, student health personnel, guardians, and representatives from the labor market.
• you work in collaboration with the school's student health team.

We see the strength in good relationships, and you will be an important part of value-creating meetings with students, other student health personnel, educators, and guardians, where you may need to be both supportive and guiding.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a degree as a career and guidance counselor.

To create successful teams, we seek someone who is curious, open to different working methods, and flexible in their collaboration. As a person, you have a very good ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and staff and can contribute to a positive work climate. In your work, you are passionate about and skilled at putting the student in focus and working relationally. Furthermore, you have the ability to work solution-oriented, structured, independently, and goal-oriented. Together with your colleagues, you actively work on improvement and development efforts to drive school development forward.

Experience is meritorious but not a requirement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
