The Department of Children and Education in Vimmerby municipality is responsible for all educational activities, from preschool to university, and also oversees Swedish for immigrants (SFI) and community orientation for newcomers. Our shared goal is that the children and youth of Vimmerby municipality will have the best conditions to meet the future and develop into creative, curious, and secure individuals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teaching assistant, you support the teacher in the classroom and contribute to a safe and structured learning environment. You help students individually or in smaller groups, clarify instructions, and support them in maintaining focus, structure, and study techniques. The role also includes preparing materials, managing digital tools, and providing support during breaks, transitions, and other school situations. You play an important part in creating order, study peace, and an inclusive everyday life for the students.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained teaching assistant or childcare worker, or who has several years of experience in similar work that we assess as equivalent. We prefer candidates with prior experience working with children in need of special support.

You are open, attentive, and calm in your interactions with others, which contributes to building good and trusting relationships with both students and adults. You relate to others in a responsive and flexible manner and have the ability to adapt your communication in a clear and pedagogical way based on the recipient's needs or the current situation.

You view relationships in their proper perspective and have the ability to distinguish between the personal and professional aspects of work. In this way, you contribute to creating an open and unpretentious collaborative climate where challenges can be solved effectively, and where everyone takes shared responsibility for achieving set goals. You are active and forward-thinking in your work and are happy to contribute ideas and thoughts that can be implemented in practice and lead to the development of both daily work and the organization as a whole.
