Kalmarsund Gymnasium Federation is a municipal federation tasked with conducting and developing upper secondary education and municipal adult education for the member municipalities of Borgholm, Kalmar, Mönsterås, Mörbylånga, and Torsås. We have approximately 4000 students and 600 employees distributed across our five schools.

Stagneliusskolan is one of the upper secondary schools in Kalmarsund Gymnasium Federation and has about 1100 students and around 120 staff members. We offer programs in social sciences, economics, law, and commerce. We also have a unit for students with neuropsychiatric disabilities within the autism spectrum.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work involves a lot of student contacts through both individual counseling sessions and information in larger groups focusing on future study and career opportunities, handling students' choices, study plans, grades, and program and school transfers, etc.

As a career counselor, you will be part of the school's student health team and will work closely with school management, educators, and administration.

The job includes many contacts with parents, the admissions unit, and external actors such as primary schools, universities, folk high schools, adult education, employment agencies, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have a degree in career counseling or equivalent education. We prefer candidates with experience working with young adults and student health work.

The position also requires good knowledge of upper secondary education and knowledge of the labor market and its needs, as well as a good understanding of the regulations regarding final grades, diplomas, and eligibility for higher education, and you should have strong administrative skills and be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written communication.

As a person, you are good at finding ways to collaborate, are responsive to students' needs and wishes, see opportunities in difficulties, are flexible, and can work both independently and together with other professionals.

Experience is required. Career counselor degree. Please attach your diploma.
