Welcome to apply for a job with us!

Your Responsibilities

You will work in two interconnected research programs, DiaCare and DIATEST-HELP, which develop and evaluate new digital and practical solutions for improved diabetes care.

The work includes both laboratory tasks and epidemiological analyses. The laboratory components involve handling capillary samples (e.g., dried blood spots on filter paper, DBS), sensor and data collection with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and quality assurance of sample and data processes. The epidemiological part includes data management, statistical analyses of glycemic control, lifestyle factors, and outcomes, as well as participation in study design, protocols, and reporting results.

Together, the projects contribute to building the future of patient-centered and data-driven primary care research in diabetes.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. Teaching may also be included in the responsibilities, but no more than one-fifth of the working time.

Your Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of postdoctoral researcher, you must have obtained a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is assessed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. Your degree must have been awarded no later than at the time the employment decision is made.

It is advantageous if your degree was awarded no more than three years before the application deadline for this position. If there are special reasons, it may be considered for those who obtained their doctoral degree earlier, for example, due to various types of statutory leaves.

We are looking for someone with a doctoral degree in medical sciences in nutrition, public health, biomedicine, or a related field, and who has documented experience in dietary research, data collection, and working with human biological samples. You have good knowledge of statistical analysis, preferably with experience in R or Stata, and a very good ability to express yourself in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

We would like you to have experience working with dietary registrations, epidemiological datasets, or registry data, as well as practical experience in laboratory tasks such as handling and analyzing blood and tissue samples. Experience working in multidisciplinary research environments and previous participation in clinical or digital intervention studies is advantageous.

You are meticulous, structured, and quality-conscious, and enjoy working both independently and in close collaboration with other researchers. You have good problem-solving skills, communicate clearly, and appreciate combining practical laboratory work with study planning, monitoring, statistical analyses, and manuscript writing.

Your Workplace

You will work at the Department of Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Primary Care (PRNV) at the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Care (HMV), Linköping University. PRNV is an interdisciplinary research environment where projects range from experimental research to large epidemiological studies and digital interventions.

You will be an important part of the DiaCare and DIATEST-HELP projects.
